Run for the Son 2004The Run for the Son will involve CMA branches taking part in all or part of a motorcycle run around Britain, taking the form of two runs, both starting from The Lighthouse Foundation's buildings in Widnes and ending at St George's Church, Doncaster. This page details the route, indicating places and times where you may leave or join the ride, rules of the ride and other information you should know. Starting Point:The Run for the Son 2004 starts from The Lighthouse Foundation, 82 Lugsdale Road, Widnes (see map). The church centre will be open from 6.00pm on Friday evening, 18th June. The building is opposite a B&Q superstore.
Follow A557 (A568) from M62 J7. Follow A557 form M56 J12 The runs will begin PROMPTLY at 10.00am on Saturday 19th June. The Northern RunWill depart Widnes at 10.15am. Stops to leave/join the ride will be approximately as follows:
The Southern RunWill depart Widnes at 10.00am. Stops to leave/join the ride will be approximately as follows:
Overnight stops:Will be in dormitory accommodation on hall floors. A light breakfast will be provided by the host branch for a small fee. Hosts will NOT be providing an evening meal. Rules of the Ride:Your motorcycle should be legal and roadworthy and capable of the sections of the ride you have chosen to join. Your motorcycle should be capable of maintaining a cruising speed of 60mph. If you have a small capacity or low powered motorcycle, consider completing parts of the ride separately from the main convoy. In the event of breakdown etc. you are fully responsible for costs and arrangements of repair/recovery and your own return home. At designated stops, your first responsibility is to refuel to ensure you are able to reach the next stop. At each stage there will be a leader of the ride, who will give direction as required. The authority of the leader is to be respected. Each individual is responsible for their own safety and for making riding decisions as traffic situations arise. Remember you are Riding for the Son! |
